I love this portrait!!! On the occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday, she was photographed by New York photographer, Annie Liebovitz. Notice the incredible soft light that mimics a window and makes it look like a Vermeer painting. I can only imagine how complicated it was for Ms. Liebovitz and her group of assistants to set up a series of ‘bank’ lights on the left side, and not seeing their reflection in the mirror behind the group.
I am touched by the little girl holding Grandma’s sturdy, and unfashionable, purse. This detail makes it for me! Great work, Annie!
