So You Need a Family Portrait…
Congratulations! You’re on your way to creating something that captures who you and your family are at this very moment. This portrait will become a part of your family history, documenting this stage in your family’s lives. The best part? I’m here to help you every step of the way! Whether your goal is hanging wall art or a well-thought-out album, I’ll make sure to create something that is unique to your family’s needs.
Every photo you see on my website is extraordinarily well planned, down to the smallest detail; clothing, hair, jewelry…even shoes! During our consultation, we’ll get to know each other so I have an understanding of your family’s dynamics. This will allow me to better capture their personalities. Whether you’re including sleepy babies, reluctant teenagers, or unenthusiastic spouses, planning will make the photography session a success.
Your questions will be answered, including:
- What clothing photographs best
- How much you’ll plan to invest
- Where the photography session will take place (in studio or on location)
- And other important questions such as whether the family pet should be involved (to which I’d say “yes!”)
The goal: avoid all the common mistakes people make during their portrait sessions. No “awkward family photos” here!
The Photography Session
It’s show time, but don’t stress! Whether your photography session takes place in the studio, at your home, in your backyard, at the shore, at your favorite park or vacation spot, I will give you complete posing instructions to make you and your family look your best. It’s more than just a photo, it’s a family experience – treat it like an event My goal is to make this enjoyable and relaxed – that’s how we’ll get the best photographs and create memorable family history.
Viewing and Ordering
After your photography session, we will schedule a time for the ‘decision makers’ to come to the studio so you can view and order your photographs.
I will guide you and help you choose:
- Which photographs have the best looks, gestures and expressions:
- Suggestions on how to display your new portraits – framed photographs for your table, a giclée for the wall, an album, canvas gallery wrap, collage…
- Ideas on where to place your family art
From what we covered in our one-on-one consultation, as well as from my years of experience, I will be happy to help you with your vision for your family’s portrait.
Show it Off!
Once your order is ready, we can even help install everything – free of charge! After that, all that’s left to do is sit back, bask in all the compliments you’ll receive from friends, and enjoy your family as a work of art!
You couldn’t be happier with your portraits, but those kids just keep on growing! Most of my clients get their family portrait done every couple of years so they can document their family as it develops and changes. Think of it as a visual record of your lives. As you walk down your hallway, up your staircase, or throughout your home, there’s nothing like seeing your child develop from a bubbly toddler into a vivacious teen before your eyes…you’ll have the ability to literally walk down memory lane.
