It's summer vacation time and I had the pleasure of spending two weeks in Spain. The Spanish lifestyle was wonderful... with its beautiful landscapes, incredible architecture, 800 year old farmhouses, wine, afternoons in cafes, great seafood, old stones, listening to languages, delicious and inexpensive house wines, people watching, picturesque harbors, pinchos & tapas, cafe con leche, sipping wine in the shade, biking on quiet lanes, medieval villages...did I mention the wine? Some years ago I was in Antigua, Guatemala at the end of March. I didn’t realize that I would be in the country for one of the most somber yet beautiful events I’ve ever seen: Holy Week.

As an artist, I love tracking down great art at museums, galleries and theatres. I’ll pursue art wherever I can. Being so close to New York is an advantage, obviously, but Montclair itself is in a great location for finding inspiration, and last weekend I was able to see three great artistic events.
