Ah, the world of the French cafe. Sit at little round tables for hours with your espresso cup or a glass of wine and watch the world go by. I was in Paris last month and I got to sit along with the Parisians, but I took photographs.
Hemingway, Modigliani, Picasso, Nin spent time sketching, reading and arguing at Les Deux Magots or La Rotonde or Cafe des Flores.
This year cafes were the place to watch The World Cup football matches, which France won!
The waiters are beautiful to watch. They are professionals in their starched long aprons and equally starchy demeanor.
Sitting in a Paris cafe is one of the treasures of traveling. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but the espresso was so good. I love how everyone sits facing the street, as if watching the parade of life.
