May 12th marks the 100th birthday of the great baseball player, Yogi Berra. Yogi came to my studio in Montclair, New Jersey in 2004 for a portrait. He was gracious and when I moved in tight because I wanted to make a low angle ‘hero’ portrait, the oft-photographed Yogi, who was totally aware of camera angles said, “you’re awfully close.”
